Indoor Camping

So Alex got the idea that he wanted to start sleeping in a hammock in his room. He investigated hammock stands and found them to be pretty expensive and can take up a lot of room - many being as long as 15 feet!

The next idea was to lag into the studs in the walls, which scared me due to the high stresses that would place on the whole structure - probably pull a stud right out of the wall!! So no go there.

Then Alex set out to build his own. Starting with all kinds of ideas, he came across a low cost option ($20) that is also relatively portable/collapsable. Essentially two tripods with a compression rod between.

It still takes up a lot of room, but it is very temporary as who knows how long he is really going to want to "hang" out. We anxiously set it up right in the middle of his room, so a little reorganization is needed.
