On my recent cruise, it occurred to me that my trusty S95 has probably taken more vacation snapshots than the rest of my cameras combined! It is extremely pocketable, has a wonderful (bright) lens and with some adjustments, takes really great photographs too. Not as fast and easy to tweak as my DSLRs, but given a few seconds to make adjustments, it is capable of some strong images.
So you know how this ends.... I loved it so much, I had to get another one. This time the newer version the S110. There have been advancements in the sensor technology and the lens has a bit more range as well. Also takes better video if I want to do that too. There is one model newer (S120) - there is always a newer model - but I couldn't justify the $400 price. So I snagged this one out on eBay for about $175
So I believe I have my new "go to" camera for vacation and travel. I will certainly not retire my handy S95, but instead keep it even more handy (maybe in my car). Thta way I will never be without a capable camera that allows me to capture those missed photo ops.
