I received my Canon 100mm macro lens in the mail today... a recent ebay purchase made with the primary intent to digitize a few slides my parents saved. I must say, what an absolutely LOVELY lens that came with an added surprise, which is a story for another post sometime soon.
Giddy with delight and anxious to test my ability to breathe life into these Kodachrome memories, I quickly mounted my camera to an old (super heavy!) tripod head that I no longer use. Placing it on the kitchen table and using my iphone for a backlight, I laid one of the old slides on the lit phone screen and began to carefully snap away.
My temporary setup shown below.
Nothing fancy at all, but a reasonable initial pilot for what will become a more permanent setup. I will fabricate the second version after my next trip to Lowe's for supplies.
