It rained on Sunday morning... it rained really, really, hard. The water poured down Grove Farm Road, creating small rivers on both sides of the street. The kids and I went out to play in the stream until lightning threatened.
Little did we know that only 2 miles away, Clinton was being overrun by the Raritan river. What a mess! This flash flooding caught many of the businesses totally off guard and even some customers.
We went back today to assess the damage and we were surprised at how much cleanup had already taken place. With the exception of a few stores that had to tear out all of the carpets, most of them seem to be doing pretty well considering.
Water was still high under the bridge near the red mill... all still within its banks at least for now.
