Had a nice mid-morning paddle around Round Valley this morning. A beautiful day with some activity on the lake. My pal, Steve, and I paddled about half-way around the edge. He has a fishing kayak, sit-on-top. What is interesting is he has a peddle-type device that allows him to move foward without a paddle... leg-power. It actually moves along pretty well despite its overall large shape and size.
Nice to be out on the water. Gosh was it clear... check out the picture below (click to see details). Although the water looks like it is only 3 feet deep, it is probably 10-12 feet... see all the way to the bottom. Really nice paddling. Note the beautiful carbon fiber paddle that my thoughtful brother got for me... sweet!

It is nice to be able to pull outof my driveway and be sitting in my kayak at RVR in about 15 minutes. Good to get out there - going to try to get in an evening paddle this week.
I wish I was by RVR--ideal water for Eskimo rolling practice.
