Get it.... Pete... Pete Fountain. This joke was as wasted on my family as my frequent comments about speedy drivers - "There goes Barney Oldfield", I would shout... all I get in return is "Who's Barney Oldfield?"
Anyway, while shopping at Lowe's the other day, I saw this fountain in their clearance area. An open box special that is typically 10% off, I was able to negotiate 25% off.
I brought it home and got it set up near the deck. It is really nice and the little pump (about 3"x2"x2") takes very little energy. The maintenance should be minimal and similar to a bird bath. The sound is nice.
While waiting for the store manager, I left the kids in the porch swing area -- this was a "mistake". Ended up buying one of those too - partially because the kids loved it so much and also I knew Jackie will like it too. Will provide a pic when we get it set up later this week.
Below is a close up of the fountain (tried to stop the water with high speed photo) and a view from deck level.

Very nice simple design and great location for it. I was expecting a little boy peeing in the drink but suppose those were not on sale or had aldeady sold out.
Nice fountain. Add bleach to prevent fungus. In a year, when tire of it, can chuck it if the trash man will take it (sometimes they charge extra). I have a CD full of water sounds for your outdoor Bose whenever you want it. Somehow they filtered out the low hum of the pump on the CD.
Sweet fountain!
Good suggestion - I have some bleach in there now (something that was not possible with the prior pond).
The fountain is not made of concrete, so if ever I want to rid myself of it, I can cut it in half with my bow saw and stuff it in my trash... gone!
Until then, we will take care of it and enjoy the water sounds -- does make me have to pee though.
