May 2009 - what an inning!

Goodbye May, 2009 and good riddance!!

As you can see from my previous post, my Kubota has been giving me a little hydraulic trouble. But that isn't my major complaint with last month... read on.

(1) My Chevy Avalanche has been acting up - tighten fuel cap warning. I did and it didn't help. My filler cap did seem a little loose - probably broken thanks to a combination of stupid New Jersey laws about pumping your own gas and the hammered monkeys these places hire to man their pumps. I even purchased a new filler cap and that didn't seem to have a positive effect - check engine light remains on. So now I have to find time to have the Chevy garage (if there is one after the anticipated Monday bankruptcy) help identify and fix this issue.

One away!

(2) One of the rear brakes on my BMW has been sticking. Not all the time, but often enough that it is an issue. When I replaced the brake pads, I noticed that one side was worn out much, much more than the other - I hoped it would remedy itself. No such luck. Now going to take it in to have that looked at professionally by a local shop on Monday.

Two down!

(3) Here's the topper. "Surly your wife's fine, Japanese Toyota Highlander can't be giving any mechnical trouble" you say. Nope, it's not mechanical - and don't call me Shirley. As you can see from the picture, it has more of a 'cosmetic' issue. Earlier this week, she scraped it against a pole in the parking garage at work. Pole jumped right out in front of her ;-)

Damaged the driver side door, front fender and smashed the mirror. Sweet.
Makes the cost of my growing iPod collection look like penny candy at Bob and Lucy's corner store in comparison.

Three outs retires the side!

I guess if bad things come in three's, then I should be all set for auto related issues for some time!
(knocking wood as I type)

Wow, low profile kayak trolley. Wish I could tap your engineering mind to make one of these.
