Chazz is Da Man

Jackie and I spent the evening at the State Theater of Easton being thoroughly entertained by Chazz Palminteri. Chazz single-handedly walked us through the life of a young boy growing up in a wise-guy controlled section of New York and his Dad's struggle to keep his only son out of the flashy lifestyle of the mob.

Although we both knew the basic story-line from having seen the movie "A Bronx Tale", the delivery from the man that wrote the script was really something to behold. With a set containing of nothing more than a flight of stairs, a lightpost and a nightclub sign, Chazz vocally constructed scene after scene with such detail that we were transported both in time and location.

The alacrity with which Chazz switched facial appearance and voice for each of the characters was nothing short of astounding. Transitions happening at lightning speed without missing beat or losing the audience along the way. Jaw-dropping! How this 61-year old finds the energy and presence of mind to maintain this pace without a skip for 90 minutes, I don't know.

I have to say that I have a new-found respect for Chazz Palminteri as a writer and actor. Quite a show, and very well done! Thanks for an unforgettable night, Chazz!
