I added two crossbars on the trailer this morning --- used two 6' pieces of 3/4" galvanized pipe. Connected to the top rail with u -bolts. Not too permanent that I can't take them off if I need to, yet not too temporary that I will lose my kayak load.
So just need to take some time to rewire the lights and then I am good to go.
I used the kubota to back the trailer neatly into my garage so I can climb under it for the wiring. Also a convenient way to keep my kayaks at the ready to skip over to the lake, which I am hoping to do more of this month (before it gets cold!).
