Just out for a quick drive this morning to test my newly acquired lens, a Canon 70-200 f4 IS USM. Bought it for ease of travel --- my 100-400mm has a longer focal length, but is a real monster to carry around unless there is a specific need for that magnification (football, baseball). Like my 100-400, this also has image stabilization technology, which is a tremendous help when shutter speeds slow down, especially at these focal lengths (200mm x 1.6 APS-C factor nets 320mm!)
I have read many, many reviews of this lens that state that this is THE sharpest, best zoom ever made! After only a few hours with it, I think they may be correct... it is amazing!
