Postcard Home

Purchased on e-bay for a pittance and using as a bookmark.

Apparently this wayward traveler to the Athol area didn't find what they were looking for and decided to drop a note home about their day.

I think these old documents are interesting --- makes me think about what the person was doing and what things were like back then (April-1914 in this case based on the cancellation markings).

A few days later, Rene Thomas won the Indy 500 averaging 82mph... I managed close to that on my last trip to Illinois! For comparison, Ryan Hunter won this year's Indy with an average speed 186mph.

Looked up this location on Zillow and here is the house that received this postcard in 1914. The house was built in 1890, so this is the place!
