ANOTHER Camera?!?!
Yup ANOTHER one!! Here's my latest B&H Photo purchase - sitting on a lightweight flexy tripod that I bought previously. A Fuji Finepix XP10 -- a low-cost, waterproof camera that will be my photo accomplice during our trip to the Bahamas (August). This beauty is a fully waterproof (10 feet for 1 hour), shockproof (3.5 ft drop) and dustproof camera - great for 12mp snapshots as well as HD video.
I am not expecting it to replace my "newish" (earlier this month) Canon 50D, but it certainly can venture into locales that my sweet DSLR dare not tread. That makes it very useful for a trip to the beach/waterpark, kayaking, etc. - can even keep it in my pocket on the way down the super slides.
My brother suggested a Fuji camera and from my initial impressions, he offered some really excellent advice. This camera is small and works fantastically - all at the low, low price of under $150 - veritable chicken feed when considering the memories I will make on our trip (not to mention the cost of the trip itself!!). Actually had a B&H gift card that reduced the price even further.
I will continue to familiarize myself with the controls, so that I can be fully operational when I hit the beach. In addition to this "green machine", I plan to take my super-small, credit-card sized Canon SD780 with me (just in case the dip in the pool proves to be too much for my Fuji). Will be a wonderful trip and I hope to capture some priceless photos and underwater videos of the kiddos. We'll see!!

Wow, that's sweet! Mine's blue/purple. I like green better. Remember, if you want a case that fits it like a glove (but leaves no extra room for batteries or SD cards) the Lowepro Napoli 5 will do the trick. And you just thread the wrist strap out the pre-cut hole in the Napoli 5.
Make sure you dunk it underwater during the 30 day return period for B and H (or at very least during the one year manuf. warranty; but better to deal with B&H) so if any leakage in the build, e-z return process.
I want some fine photos of those Bahamian sand castles.
