Just got home and checked out the deck. The crew began laying down some decking and trimming out the edge of the deck and the steps. They also installed the inner part of the tred and riser trim as well.
All starting to shape up and I expect the next full day of work will result in significant decking being laid out.
Then I should be able to walk about more easily and the focus will shift to the railings.
I really like the decking material - very expensive, but looks good. Hard to tell from the pictures, but the material is textured nicely and has a mix of colors in it that make it look more like wood.
Not expecting the team to be back on site tomorrow - looks like all their tools have been picked up for the week. Not sure how many workers are on this job, so hard to tell how efficient they are being. Regardless, they seem to be doing a good, quality job.

Interesting photos, whitefordfalcon. Seems like it'll be a superb deck to relax at night and look at the stars with a telescope (something you might consider rather than a spotting scope since you have a rural setting). I have read online reports online of fairly basic home telescopes being able to see Jupiter and several of it's orbiting moons.
I have never read, though, that a home scope can see the rings around Uranus. Those require a special objective, clearly. And a very worldly, dedicated "ass-tronmer" who thinks "outside the box".
Awsome! You might save those cut pieces to make planter box, bech or other to sit on deck or patio. Can't wait to see the railings.
